Veteran Iranian wrestler dies at 80

TEHRAN - Former Iranian freestyle wrestler Shaban Baba’oladi died at 80 in Qazvin’s Razi Hospital on Monday.

In the past, Baba’oladi claimed numerous domestic championships in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. The 57kg wrestler finished fourth in Bulgaria World Championship in 1958 as well.
Baba’oladi was contemporary with Iranian legendary wrestler Gholamreza Takhti.
“Babaoladi’s funeral will be held on Tuesday and he will be laid to rest at the Qazvin cemetery,” head of Qazvin’s wrestling association Reza Layegh said.
Shaban Baba’oladi died of old age.
